@freemo you are right. i thought my repo was well maintained before (i use rebase pull to merge upstream every time), but with time goes by, i need to rebase hundreds of commit every time. this time, the v4 changed too much, have spends hours on that, about to give up :(

by the way, how about your fork my friend? i see qoto still on v3.2

i think a better choice for me is to create a new fork and pick only some of the key modification (like markdown) into the new branch and drop some less important features. or the fork will be hard to maintain in the future
