@Nick_Stevens_graphics If it's AI-assisted, for example generate sketches and then the human artist manually add more details and colors to it, then I might have some sympathy for him. However, in this case my understanding is that his artwork is completely AI-generated and the only effort he put in was prompting (and money for MidJourney credits), so yeah, I think he deserves this.

@GZGavinZhao @Nick_Stevens_graphics He claims to have spent hundreds of hours working on it in Photoshop

I don’t like Gen AI, I don’t like copyright, and I don’t like the art much, but I think he probably deserves copyright protection for it

I’m not sure how you verify the original contributions, though

@peterbutler @GZGavinZhao

OK, think of it this way...

Let's make the laughable assumption that he's 100 times better than us real artists.

So our work is only worth, what, tens of thousands per images?

I will cheerfully accept $1000 for each image sucked into the thieving maw of AI.

Bargain!

@Nick_Stevens_graphics @GZGavinZhao I agree with you that contributors to LLMs should be compensated, and if they can’t compensate contributors, they shouldn’t exist

小森林

每个人都有属于自己的一片森林,也许我们从来不曾走过,但它一直在那里,总会在那里。迷失的人迷失了,相逢的人会再相逢。愿这里,成为属于你的小森林。
