Happy 30th Birthday, Linux!
Linux is now 30 years old! Today, August 25 is the day most (but not all) open-source folk recognise as the famous kernel’s formal founding. It was on this day 30 years ago that a fresh-faced Fin named Linus Torvalds sat down to punch out a small announcement to share it with the Minix newsgroup. The subject? His ‘hobby’ operating system: Hello everybody out there using minix- I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has been brewing since april, and is starting to get ready. I’d like any feedback on
