Why Ubuntu 22.10 May Disable GNOME’s New ‘Device Security’ Panel By Default

Among the many GNOME 43 features is a new device security panel that informs users about the security status of their device. But users of Ubuntu 22.10 may be unable able to see it. A bug report filed by Ubuntu developers this weekend describes the new device security feature as “confusing and unhelpful” in its current incarnation. “A default Ubuntu install only gets us “Security Level 1”.
