Ubuntu 22.10 is Now Available to Download

It’s live — Ubuntu 22.10 “Kinetic Kudu” is available to download. Ubuntu 22.10 comes with a number of improvements to the user experience, a new sound server, new text editor app, and Linux kernel 5.19. It also boasts better-than-ever support for the Raspberry Pi single board computer. As a short-term support release this version of Ubuntu comes with 9 months of app updates and support. It’s not long, but it take us well past the release of its successor, Ubuntu 23.04 which is due in April of next year. If you stay on top of your Ubuntu news you should :sys_more_orange:

Having been on 22.10 for several months, all I can say is it is a progression in Ubuntu's downward spiral towards Redhatism, suckyism, it's fucked. Pipewire is shit, stutters like hell, had to go back to pulse because it just don't work, the 5.19 kernel is likewise fuxored, 6.0 is okay though but not shipped with 20.10 you need to compile yourself, and they are turning more and more shit into disgusting snap shit which blows up if you look at it wrong, makes snails look like race horses, and creates a bogus file system for every application. They've also relegated even more things to systemd so it gets an opportunity to fuck even more shit up. You also get told there are five more security patches available if you subscribe to some Ubuntu service meant for old releases even though you're on the most modern release. Canonical, you've taken Ubuntu from being a pretty decent distro in 2012 to being a complete pile o shit in 2022. Just like Biden did to our country.

小森林

每个人都有属于自己的一片森林,也许我们从来不曾走过,但它一直在那里,总会在那里。迷失的人迷失了,相逢的人会再相逢。愿这里,成为属于你的小森林。
